I Spend So Much Time as a Genealogist That I Don’t Research My Family Anymore

This is not an uncommon issue. I spend a lot of time with the California Genealogical Society, taking classes, honing skills, etc., so I don’t spend as much time actually reasearching.

Part of that is the hinted at by this blog’s title - I have hit a bunch of largely impossible brick walls.

Part is that it is no fun fact checking some of the research that I have inherited.

Part is that my wife’s family is so much fun to research (if nothing else, her paternal grandfather was an insanely interesting guy).

Plus part of me realizes that I really do need to learn Polish to do a lot of this research. And I want to, but I am too busy/lazy.

I am going to try to do some real research over this two week holiday.

I’m ready!
